Safe programming is one of the essentials of safeguarding, ensuring that programmes are safe in line with the Do No Harm principle. To ensure programmes are safe, staff capacity should be built, risk assessments conducted, mitigation measures developed, while ensuring community participation.

In this webinar the panellists discuss the key measures that are needed for safe programming and share their experiences of ensuring programs are safe in their organisations.

  • Hadeezah Haruna-Usie - Safeguarding and Gender Consultant

Hadiza - headshotHadeezah has wealth of experience in supporting INGOs and NGOs in developing safeguarding measures. She has designed and delivered guidance to organisations on developing safe programmes which includes technical assistance to evidence and research teams on both the use of tools and developing applications which incorporate safeguards and ethical standards.

 

  • Mofoyeke Omole - Management Consultant, BSc.,ADHRM, MPDI, FIMC, CMC

Foye HeadshotMofoyeke participated in RSH Safeguarding mentorship programme as an internal mentor for Women Arise Development and Humanitarian Initiative (WADHI). As part of the mentorship programme, Mofoyeke supported WADHI to strengthen their safeguarding systems by assigning safeguarding focal persons, having safeguarding policy, risks register amongst other measures that have now been put in place. As a Management Consultant, Mofoyeke provides strategic organisational development support for NGOs and MSMEs. She is the Founder/Principal Consultant at Redberyl Management Consulting Ltd. and Founder, Thrivebridge Initiative for social development.

 

  • Tina Ayuba - Protection Officer, Community Health, Justice and Peace Initiative for Development (JDPH)

Tina Headshot Tina works with Community Health, Justice and Peace Initiative for Development (JDPH) as Protection Officer and also doubles as the Safeguarding focal person. She commenced her career in Protection as a case worker team lead with LHI(Life Helpers Initiative)/Plan international. Tina participated in RSH mentoring program from February – August 2021 as internal mentor to her organisation and since then she has continued to take the lead in ensuring her organisation remains a safe organisation both in programs and operations.

  • Dr. Eleanor Nwadinobi - Senior Advisor for the Nigeria Hub 

Eleanor Headshot Dr Eleanor Nwadinobi is the Senior Advisor of the Nigeria Resource and support hub. She is a  medical doctor and international health, women, peace and security, gender and human rights expert. Dr Nwadinobi is also currently the President of the Medical Women's International Association (MWIA).
